Can and Reus Strike as Dortmund Extends Unbeaten Run

Borussia Dortmund continued their impressive form on Saturday, narrowly edging out RB Leipzig 2-1 at the Signal Iduna Park in a tightly contested Bundesliga encounter. The victory extended Dortmund's unbeaten streak to eight matches across all competitions, solidifying their position in the race for Champions League spots.

Emre Can opened the scoring for the hosts in the 21st minute, volleying home a cross from Julian Brandt. Erling Haaland doubled Dortmund's lead in the 39th minute, converting a penalty after he was fouled in the box by Dayot Upamecano. Emil Forsberg pulled one back for Leipzig in the 80th minute, but it was not enough to salvage a point for the visitors.

Dortmund started the game brightly and created numerous chances in the opening stages. Can's goal gave them a deserved lead, and they continued to press for more. Haaland's penalty put them in a commanding position, but Leipzig fought back in the second half and nearly equalized on several occasions.

The win takes Dortmund up to fifth place in the Bundesliga table, level on points with RB Leipzig but behind on goal difference. They will face Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg on February 15th before hosting Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on February 19th.
